Artek A201 pendant, black – brass

Artek’s A201 is a clean-lined, stylish pendant made up of two steel cylinders and a perforated brass ring. The pendant, designed by Alvar Aalto, reflects light through both the upper and lower parts to create an effect similar to sunlight – in addition to a warm glow, the lamp provides downward illumination. The brass ring adds an elegant finishing touch while also preventing glare. Like many of Alvar Aalto’s lighting designs, A201 was designed for a specific building, namely the Säynätsalo town hall library located in Central Finland. This special black version of the A201 pendant is available exclusively from Finnish Design Shop and Artek.
