Vaarnii’s Maasto dining armchair captivates its stripped-down, almost brutal appearance, where Finnish pine plays the leading role –  as is typical of Vaarnii’s furniture. The minimalist chair consists of a pine veneer frame combined with a sturdy seat and backrest, both made of solid pine. Designed by Ronan Bouroullec, the shape of the Maasto armchair might be straightforward, but pine’s diverse wood grain patterns lend it a captivating, varied look. Each chair will surely be unique, and over time, wear, and age, the charm will only enhance as the Maasto develops a beautiful, natural patina.
