The Wicker rug by Roots Living boasts a beautifully natural design that evokes images of lazy summer days and laid-back island life. The rug is made of hemp, which is known as a durable and eco-friendly material – its cultivation requires less water, fertilizers, and pesticides than many other fibers.

Designed by Joanna Laajisto, the Wicker rug was inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of the Finnish archipelago. The Finnish interior architect and designer was particularly inspired by beautifully woven rattan furniture, which shows in hemp rug’s tactile, varied texture created by combining different weaving methods. The Wicker rug is handmade in India.
