New Works Atlas coffee table, 60 x 60 cm, black marble

New Works’ Atlas coffee table borrows both its name and its look from ancient Greece. The table, designed by John Astbury, got its appearance from Greek architecture and the classical order, and the name comes from the titan called Atlas. And indeed, the legs of the table are like the shoulders of a titan, which, according to mythology, were destined to hold up the heavens for eternity. The strong table legs and thin tabletop create a striking contrast that will charm in the home living room as well as in public spaces. 

The strong coffee table is made of marble, which has been used as a building material since ancient times. As marble is a natural material, its colors and textures are always individual and vary from one table to the next, only adding more unique character and roughness to the look of the Atlas table.
